The moral issues of the open mind

Being able to read ones thoughts from a psychological and therapeutical stand point sounds good, especially if inroads into healing the mentally ill become successful through this procedure. But what about the moral considerations, or is there a moral issue?

The advances in science or technology or any other field has always attempted to win the race with God. For a while they might even look like they could win and discredit God, but as always man soon learns once more that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is still on the thrown.

As we learn more about what the potential of this procedure is, it will become obvious what the correct moral position will be. Christians tend to react too quickly in situations they are not familiar with. We need to be patient and wait for results and not panic. If the mind loses its privacy, then hopefully the individual’s rights will be upheld.

The Oil Report BUSINESSDAY

I noticed the drop in the oil price in this article to day. Once again it reminded me that this whole business of oil pricing is susceptible to so many variables that obviously no one can predict. I can't help but think that we are being punished by those oil producing countries because of the war in Iraq. I hope that I am wrong on that, because it would mean more than just the war we would be dealing with in that case.

The funny thing about the players in the oil game is that one common denominator exists. The same entity that is always present in any commercial adventure. When supply and demand exists you always have to factor in the consumer, plus other variables such as weather, or politics, or even popularity, and anything else that would affect the supply and demand factor.

No doubt these professionals are well educated and trained in the science of deciphering the data accumulated and used to predict the future price index, but it’s still a prediction. Even the players in the oil business, the countries involved, with the best, or worst intentions and plans can only go so far, and even if they were manipulating that market to maximize their profits are subject to that same entity, supply and demand.

I must say I love it when those power moguls’ best plans go sour. It’s the freedom of an unpredictable future that is so fresh, so exciting that keeps life going, keeps life worth living. Ya just never know what the future will bring. No one can know either to the best of anyone's ability. No fortune tellers, no diviners, no one knows the future only God Himself.
