Fruit

Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. #Bible

On our horizontal plain of existence we can see that the crowning glory of fruit trees is their fruit. Their beauty from blossom to the fruit itself, the entire year these trees have been working to this moment. The fruit appeals to the eye, to the smell, to the taste, even it's flavor.
The first on the list of the flesh is adultery, and the first on the list of the Spirit's is Love.
Can we see the difference?
The list of the flesh are all proceeding from selfishness, where by the Holy Spirit, is good, and self denying, filled with the Peace of God which produces Joy, and all the rest.
The works of the flesh will not get us into heaven, but the Fruit or the Spirit gets us in with no resistance.
The question here is really, how do we want to live our lives now, in selfish gratification, or like the fruit trees, on the vertical plain producing Love, Peace, and Joy?
The flesh brings us pain and suffering, not to mention chaotic uncertain futures filled with looking over our backs reeling from our past lives.
Living by the Holy Spirit's direction takes all of  the pressures of this world off our backs allowing us to enjoy God and do His good works, what He commands us.
It is so wonderful to finally look up from the darkness of our flesh, that thick fog of blindness, to see eternity in the clear light of the Fruit of the Spirit's leading, to know we are kept safe by our Lord Jesus.
