Wise?

Proverbs 26:12 Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him. #Bible

To be Wise is one who is continually watching and observing. For example a farmer continually watches his crops and livestock. Making sure everything is in order, ready to respond to any situation that might arise.
One who is wise in his own eyes is watching himself, thinking he is confident in what he knows. He thinks he is adequately prepared. He is blind to his inability to see what is looming continually outside on the periphery. His confidence tells him all is well, even when doom nears.
It has been said that wisdom is learned in knowing what its like to be a fool. That is the difference between being wise in one's own eyes, and a fool.
It's being humble in learning, knowing we will never know it all in this life.
It makes sense why God refers to us as sheep, and His children, and our need of our Savior Jesus the Christ, and for the Holly Spirit, our God who is our companion through this life and on into eternity.
