Matthew 16:13-16 Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?" And they said, "Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" It is a privilege to know that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.
When you consider how close all of us came to turning our backs on Jesus, or even in those times of temptation slipped away in sin.
We could have missed our salvation because of the lusts of our desire.
Thank God that He didn't give up on us so quickly.
Again we are thankful that we didn't have some worldly idea, or opinion that Jesus was a myth, or just some great man, or even just a prophet of old who isn't realitive today.
Thank God we have met the Son of God, Jesus the one and only unique Son, who is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
The Great Sheppard who leads us through this life on our way to be with God our Father for eternity.
Jesus who laid down His earthly life for the punishment of our sin, and after three days rose from the dead leading us to the new life in Grace, onward home to our Father God into eternity.
Who do I say that Jesus is? He is my Saviour, my God, my Brother, He is my Lord, He is the Way, the Truth and the only Life worth living.
